DESCRIPTION:The Hifilutin Flute Quartet will give the final concert in the 6 Summertime Concerts Series at Triskel\, showcasing the flute\, alto flute\, bass flute\, contrabass flute and piccolo. They present a selection from their very wide-ranging and varied repertoire which is guaranteed to delight. From medieval to modern music\, from classical works to the unexpected\, from arrangements of orchestral and opera favourites to musicals and original compositions\, the ensemble demonstrates the full versatility of the flute family.\n\n \n\nMusicians\n\nThe Hifilutin Flute Quartet\n\nEil s O'Sullivan\n\nMaria Mulcahy\n\nAoife O'Donovan\n\nKatrina Emtage\n\n \n\nHifilutin was first formed in 2006 with Eil s O'Sullivan\, Maria Mulcahy\, Katrina Emtage and Kate Chisholm. In 2006-07 they gave concerts in Cork and in Muckross House\, Killarney\, before disbanding as personal circumstances changed. In 2018\, they regrouped with Aoife O'Donovan taking the place of Kate Chisholm. Since then\, they have performed for Cork Vision Centre\, North Main Street\, at the Crawford Art Gallery and at Cork Airport's Christmas Gala Concert. They were due to perform with the Birmingham Flute Choir at the\n\nMTU Cork School of Music in Spring 2020\, when COVID-19 restrictions resulted in the cancellation of the concert.
