\n\nYoki He\, Tomá\;s O&rsquo\;Hea\, Juliana Carrozza\, Gabriel Buffa and Arianne Mallari
\n\nThis first recital showcases different facets of Brahms&rsquo\; musical personality\, from the passionate romanticism of his B minor Rhapsody\, to the autumnal maturity of a late clarinet sonata and the fiery flourishes of his first Hungarian Dance. The programme also features music by Brahms&rsquo\; mentor\, Robert Schumann\, and in a nod to the city of Paris where the novel and film &ldquo\;Aimez-vous Brahms?&rdquo\; was set\, the playful simplicity of Debussy&rsquo\;s Petite Suite\, and romantic masterpieces by two of its most famous musical residents\, Chopin and Liszt.

About the Musicians
\n\nYoki He \;is a 20-year-old pianist from Cork\, Ireland\, who began her musical journey at the age of nine under the guidance of her first piano teacher\, Douglas Ladd. Her passion for music developed quickly\, and she continues to nurture it through her studies at the Cork School of Music. Currently\, Yoki is refining her technical skills and expressive abilities under the mentorship of Dr. Gemma O&rsquo\;Herlihy. Over the years\, Yoki has earned several awards. She received the Nina Dalby Sight-Reading Award at the Cork School of Music\, highlighting her ability to perform unfamiliar music with precision. Her competitive spirit led her to success at Feis Maitiu\, where she was awarded The Pigott Centenary Perpetual Challenge Cup. She has also participated in competitions including The Roycroft Perpetual Cup (Senior Piano) and The Pigott Centenary Perpetual Cup (Advanced Piano). At the Cork School of Music\, Yoki continues to expand her musical knowledge\, determined to reach new heights in her musical journey. With a clear aspiration to pursue a professional career in music\, she remains committed to continuous growth and development\, embracing opportunities to enhance her performance and deepen her understanding of music.
\n\nTomá\;s O&rsquo\;Hea \;is a piano student of Timothy Cooper and is in the final year of his bachelor&rsquo\;s degree at Cork School of Music. He began learning to play the piano with Antoinette Baker in Clonakilty. He has earned multiple prizes for his solo piano playing in Feis Maitiú\; and Feis Ceoil. He has had masterclasses with respected musicians\, including Artur Pizarro\, Barry Douglas\, Michelle Cann\, Paul Cibis and Alessandra Garosi. Tomá\;s spent last year on Erasmus at the Conservatorio Tartini Trieste in Italy. Studying under Teresa Trevisan\, he got the opportunity to perform as a solo pianist at Piano City Pordenone. Tomá\;s also enjoys playing with ensembles and orchestras\, and has performed alongside the CSM Symphony orchestra\, Wexford Sinfonia\, as well as multiple award-winning choirs.
\n\nArgentinian pianist \;Juliana Carozza \;is based in Cork City. She studied piano at the National University of Rosario (UNR)\, Argentina\, from 2010 to 2017\, where she was actively involved in chamber music\, working with a variety of instruments and vocalists. During this time\, she participated in masterclasses\, collaborated on student performances\, and regularly accompanied auditions and exams. From 2012 to 2017\, Juliana was a member of the tango orchestra \;Orquesta Tí\;pica del Sur\, performing in numerous concerts and festivals across Argentina. After relocating to Ireland in 2017\, she co-founded the tango quintet \;Rebel Tango\, performing at \;milongas \;across the country and at the Cork Tango Festival in 2019. She completed a BMus (Hons) degree at the Cork School of Music\, MTU\, in 2022 and is currently pursuing a Master&rsquo\;s in Performance\, specialising in chamber music.
\n\nGabriel Buffa \;is a clarinetist\, composer\, and conductor with a BA in Composition from the National University of Có\;rdoba (2002&ndash\;2007) and certification as a Music and Clarinet Teacher (2005). He completed advanced studies in composition\, arrangement\, and conducting\, and trained privately with renowned clarinetists across Brazil and Argentina. From 2008 to 2020\, he served as Principal Clarinet of the Symphonic Band of Mar del Plata\, performing as a soloist and contributing as composer\, arranger\, and copyist for the ensemble&rsquo\;s biweekly concerts at Teatro Coló\;n. His career also includes conducting student wind orchestras\, performing with the contemporary ensemble Camarattas (2011&ndash\;2015)\, and founding the original music project &ldquo\;Cheto&rsquo\;e Campo&rdquo\; (2018&ndash\;2020). In 2020\, his wind band work Suite por la Libertad received Second Honorable Mention at the Argentine Air Force Composition Contest\; in 2024\, he was awarded Best Music at the IndieCork Film and Music Festival.
\n\nArianne Mallari \;is a young pianist currently studying in MTU Cork School of Music towards a Bachelors of Music degree. Mentored under Michael Joyce\, she is a committed performer with achievements such as the Bernard Curtis Cup (First Place)\, the Bridget Doolan Cup (First Place) the conservatoire&rsquo\;s Advanced Recital Competition (Commended). As well as musical performance\, Arianne is well-versed in script/creative writing and score composition\, having collaborated with Cracking Light Productions on their short film &ldquo\;Panganay&rdquo\; (2025) as a writing assistant and composer.

Cork PianoFest 2026
\n\nFollowing on from last year&rsquo\;s Cork PianoFest\, we are delighted to present another three-concert series at Triskel Arts Centre as part of the 2026 festival. The concerts will feature performances from MTU Cork School of Music&rsquo\;s students and lecturers\, celebrating the breadth and diversity of music-making in the Department of Keyboard Studies and encompassing solo performances\, vocal and instrumental collaborations\, and jazz improvisation.
