DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to kick off our 2023 year-round programme of special screenings and events with a short season of cinematic thrills\, terror and suspense!\n\n\n\nFear Screen celebrates European films and directors from the past 70 years of cinema\, ranging from masterpieces that influenced the future of horror/thriller cinema and classics to cult Guilty Pleasures which will have you snorting into your popcorn. Offering something for cinephiles and schlock fans alike\, each feature will be complemented by a short film and introduction by CIFF Programme Manager\, Si Edwards.\n\nThe unmissable programme comprises:\n\n\n\nLes Diaboliques\n\nA classic masterpiece of suspense and plot twists which influenced the likes of Alfred Hitchcock's 'Psycho'\, directed by Henri-Georges Clouzot (1955). Thursday\, 23rd February at 8.15pm in Triskel Arts Centre\n\n\n\nPhenomena\n\nThe suspenseful and spine-tingling tale of a girl who can communicate psychically with insects\, starring Jennifer Connelly and Donald Pleasence\, directed by Dario Argento (1985). Thursday\, 2nd March at 8pm in Triskel Arts Centre\n\n\n\nThe Vanishing (Spoorloos)\n\nA slow-burning\, intense thriller bound to keep you on the edge of your seat\, directed by George Sluizer (1988). Thursday\, 9th March at 8pm in Triskel Arts Centre\n\n\n\nTroll 2\n\nA horrifically bad film full of awful special effects\, some of the worst dialogue ever heard on screen\, and one of the most popular cult movies ever made\, directed by Claudio Fragasso (1990).
