DESCRIPTION:Curveball is a six-piece jazz fusion group formed in Cork in 2026. The band comprises Darach   Torna   saxophone\, E in Leahy   trombone & steel pans\, Gavin Smith   guitar\, Noah Snyder   keys\, Michael Riordan   bass\, and Jack Marnane   drums. Drawing inspiration from the greats of the genre such as Michael Brecker\, Joe Zawinul and Herbie Hancock\, Curveball's compositions blend harmonic intensity\, deep groove and spontaneous improvisation.\n\nHaving all played together in MTU CSM Jazz Big Band as college students\, the band has years of experience together playing in various projects spanning from jazz to pop\, metal to musical theatre both in Ireland and abroad. This group includes some of the city's most in-demand musicians but is also a tight group of friends whose chemistry enables the music to move in any direction and always land on its feet.\n\nCurveball will debut new compositions and arrangements.
