This webinar is designed to equip sustainability professionals in the construction industry with the practical knowledge and strategies needed to navigate the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). \n\n \n\nThe CSRD is a regulatory framework that was adopted by the European Commission in late 2022 and transposed into Irish law in July 2024. It mandates that nearly 50\,000 companies (many of whom are located in Ireland) in the EU disclose their environmental and social impacts. Before this\, he worked with Bechtel and the DAA on embedding the DAA's mandatory sustainable requirements in the capital infrastructure projects for Dublin Airport\, and in helping to map out their route to 2030 and net zero.\n\nPreviously\, he worked as Director of Sustainability with Ethos Engineering\, where he worked for over 9 years helping clients to navigate the myriad regulations and policies affecting building construction and streamline their approach to Part L compliance and the implementation of building environmental rating schemes.  He has extensive experience in rating schemes such as BREEAM\, LEED\, WELL\, and Living Future Accreditation (LFA) with ILFI and has deep knowledge and understanding of building energy modelling and M&E design and how this can help buildings\, new or old\, to be the best they can be with the lowest carbon footprint.\n\n \n\nLouise Martin\, ESG Lead (Walls Construction)\n\nLouise has worked with Walls Construction Ltd. as part of the HSE team for 17 years. She is passionate about all aspects of health\, safety\, well-being and environmental management. In early 2022\, Louise was asked to lead the company's ESG journey\, continuing to build and improve on the great work done to date on HSE management and CSR in the company. With the support of the senior team\, Louise's role is to guide\, encourage and promote sustainable decision-making throughout every element of the business endeavouring to ensure that the future of the company considers people and planet as a fundamental priority.\n\n\n\nColum Kenny\, Environmental SME (Future Planet)\n\nColum is a Chartered Engineer with an extensive background in environmental and risk management consulting. Before joining Future Planet\, he worked as a management consultant with a specific focus on helping clients develop and maintain sustainable business practices. This included providing services with respect to controlling environmental impact\, supplying and using energy\, developing GHG emissions inventories and decarbonisation initiatives\, appraising investment opportunities and voluntary climate reporting. He has worked with a range of clients spanning industries including construction\, oil & gas\, waste management\, pharmaceuticals\, healthcare\, food & drink\, water services\, and the public sector. Colum is passionate about helping companies to utilise technology to improve resource efficiencies and embed repeatable business practices.
