SUMMARY:Innovation through Collaboration
DESCRIPTION:Working with other like-minded companies or exploring the knowledge that exists in research institutes can significantly improve the competitiveness of your business. This event introduced companies to some of the innovation and research experts in Cork!\n\n \n\nThe Enterprise Europe Network (EEN)\, together with two of Cork Institute of Technology (CIT)'s research centres\, CAPPA (Centre for Advanced Photonics and Process Analytics) and TEC Centre (Technologies for Embedded Computing)\, showcased how companies can innovate through collaboration with them. \n\n \n\nIn preparation for 2017\, why not come and hear the stories of some successful collaborations between industry and research\, and see where your business might be able to benefit in the new year? People often don't consider themselves to be in the right kind of sector or role to be looking at innovation\, or use the resources of a research and development expert\, but innovation simply means doing things differently and better - an ambition which is applicable to all businesses! \n\n \n\nAt this event\, Dr. Liam Lewis discussed the R&D solutions that CAPPA can offer companies\, while Richard Linger spoke about TEC's assistance in the development of smart technology solutions.\n\n \n\nMichelle O'Brien from Alcon Ireland outlined how the CAPPA Centre has been assisting Alcon in both short and long-term investigative studies over the past 8 years. Alcon regularly use CAPPA's facilities to solve short term production issues and to investigate detail in current product quality and consistency.\n\n \n\nFrank Fleming of Community Supported Seafood Ltd. discussed how TEC assisted them in developing smart technology solutions.\n\n \n\nOur industry speakers outlined how they have benefited from their partnerships with the research centres and the experts were available to answer any questions attendees had. \n\n \n\nContact Eimear for further information.
