By allowing digital information to be distributed but not copied\, blockchain technology created the backbone of a new type of internet. Originally devised for the digital currency\, Bitcoin\, the tech community is now finding other potential uses for the technology. In this session Stephen will discuss the basics of this breaking technology\, its potential and implementation.\n\nStephen leads Bank of Ireland's research programme in emerging technologies. With over 20 years' experience with leading organisations\, he is particularly focused on the potential of Blockchain technology and AI to radically alter international trade\; improve the customer experience\, increasing organisational efficiency\, and reducing costs.
