DESCRIPTION:EU Doctoral Day at MTU: Co-creation workshop to design doctoral placements with Industry\, followed by the postgraduate research writing competition prizegiving.\n\nA two-part experience combining co-creation and celebration: designing stronger doctoral placement pathways and recognising the people who will shape them.\n\nAre you an organisation interested in hosting or collaborating with doctoral researchers from MTU?\n\nJoin us to help shape how doctoral placements can deliver real value for your business. This session is designed for organisations that are:\n\n\n	Curious about hosting a doctoral researcher\n	Looking to access research expertise and innovation\n	Interested in shaping a practical\, low-risk placement model\n\n\nThrough a structured\, facilitated workshop\, you'll contribute to designing a clear\, placement model that works for industry\, including scope\, supports\, and expected outcomes. Have your say in how these placements are designed\, help shape how doctoral research talent can work with industry and explore how hosting a researcher could work for your organisation.\n\nPart 1: (10.30am -1pm\, beginning with refreshments and networking)How might we design doctoral placements that genuinely work\, are consistent\, valuable\, and sustainable for researchers\, supervisors\, and host organisations? This interactive workshop brings together researchers\, industry partners\, and academic leaders to co-design a model for high-quality doctoral placements. Through real examples\, structured collaboration\, and shared insight\, participants will explore what "good" looks like from every perspective and work towards a practical\, repeatable placement framework that delivers value for all.\n\nPart 2: (1pm - 3pm) Celebrating the ideas\, ambition\, and impact shaping the next generation of doctoral research. Following the morning's collaborative workshop\, join us for a relaxed lunch and the Postgraduate Research Writing Competition Prizegiving. This showcase highlights outstanding emerging researchers\, their writing and excellence\, while sparking new connections between academia and industry.
