SUMMARY:Opening of Cahalane's
DESCRIPTION:CORK senior hurling star Damien Cahalane is about to embark on a new challenge this weekend.\n\nCahalane\, who is set to play against Limerick on Saturday night\, is about to make his debut in the world of hospitality and entertainment when he opens his new bar Cahalane's on Hanover Street on Friday evening.\n\n \n\nThe new venture\, which is backed by his dad Niall\, and Paul Montgomery of Reardens Bar\, will open on Friday night at 6.30pm to huge fanfare and to a host of local and national sporting stars\, who are expected to attend the launch of the bar.\n\n \n\nThe new bar\, while having a sporting theme running through it\, will be very much a traditional Cork bar\, focusing on all things Cork.\n\n \n\n"The bar will of course have a sporting theme\," Damien Cahalane said.\n\nIt will contain lots of sporting memorabilia\, but it will also focus on everything that is Irish and good about this city and country of ours.\n\nThere will be the very best of sport\, dance\, music and food to keep our customers happy and I believe what we are offering here will be unique in the city.\n\nIt will be a bar where you can come with your friends\, your girlfriend\, boyfriend\, husband\, wife or partner and enjoy the surroundings in style and comfort."\n\n \n\nThe bar will be aimed at the over 21's market and Cahalane believes he has the right mix of new and old in the newest bar in Cork\, which is set to create 20 new jobs in the process.\n\n \n\n"We want to attract an older type crowd. couples or groups who just want to relax\, have a drink\, maybe watch a game on TV\, enjoy the music and food and with our friendly and well-trained staff\, I guarantee that they will enjoy what they see\, what they drink\, and what they eat here."\n\n \n\nThe bar which will be open seven days a week and will be a late venue from Thursday to Saturday will offer food during the day as well as at night.\n\n \n\n"At the start we will just have soup & sandwiches by day\, but if we get any group bookings from companies\, clubs or local businesses\, we will offer them food from Rachel's across the road. This way I believe we can cater for all tastes\, palates and of course wallets. We have put in long hours to ensure it is ready for this Friday and I invite everyone to come along over the weekend to discover this new venue for themselves.\n\n\n\n"They won't go away disappointed."
