She is a singer\, poet and songwriter working bilingually in English and Gaeilge. Born in Kyushu and raised in Kerry\, her work is informed by her Irish and Japanese heritage\, a dynamic relationship with the natural world\, and her academic studies in world religions\, political science and cultural heritage. Amano's poetry and writing has been published by Good Day Cork (2023)\, Channel Magazine (2023)\, EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum (2023\, 2022)\, Motley Magazine (2022\, 2021)\, and Garland Realm (2020). She was the winner of the Irish Society for the Academic Study of Religions' Undergraduate Essay Award in 2022. She was chosen as one of the Irish Examiner's '100 Women Changing Ireland in 2022'. She was Artist in Residence UCD School of Irish\, Celtic Studies & Folklore 2023\, with the Dublin Fringe Festival in 2022\, and with DCU in 2020. Her work has been published in the recent anthologies Bone and Marrow/Cn mh agus Smior\, Queering the Green and Washing Windows Too\, in various journals\, and on YouTube. She is a co-founder of the LGBTQ+ arts collective AerachAiteachGaelach and is an Irish Writers Centre ambassador. She is currently working on her first short film as writer and director.
