SUMMARY:Sara's bake sale for Children's Health Foundation Temple Street
DESCRIPTION:My 5 year old daughter Sara has been through a number of major surgeries in her short life\, 3 in the last 10 weeks alone! She was born with a rare genetic condition called 'Muenke Syndrome' which meant that her skull had fused prematurely in the womb. This can cause many issues as the brain doesn't have the space to grow\, and it has also caused other issues for our wonderful girl such as hearing loss and vision loss.\n\nSara had her first visit to Temple Street Children's Hospital at just 6 weeks of age\, where the team have always taken great care of her.\n\nJust before 6 months of age\, Sara had her first major surgery. In a 6 hour surgery\, metal bars were inserted into her skull with the bars protruding to the outside of her head.\n\nThis was repeated again this November with another lengthy surgery to place the bars to the back of her head and more operations to complete the process.\n\nSara has had three blood transfusions to date and sports a scar from ear to ear in a zig zag shape.\n\nWe have had many trips to Temple Street over the last few years and the team have been outstanding\, supporting us in every way.\n\nOur bake sale has raised over 13\,000 on total for 2021 and 2022\, and we are setting an ambitious goal of 7\,000 this year for the total raised on the day and online to take it to a massive 20K.\n\nPlease support our fundraiser to help us to reach this goal! \n\n\n\nClick the link HERE to donate.
