SUMMARY:Starship Troopers
DESCRIPTION:It is the 23rd century and three highschool friends join the armed forces Johnny Rico becomes an infantryman\, Carmen Ibanez is an aspiring starship pilot\, and Carl Jenkins goes into military intelligence. When planet Earth is under attack from the alien species of Arachnids\, an intelligent race of bugs\, the United Citizen Federation finds itself in an interstellar war. Now\, Johnny\, Carmen and Carl find themselves travelling to the distant and desolate Klendathu system to battle these creatures.\n\nPaul Verhoeven re-teamed with ROBOCOP co-scriptwriter Edward Neumeier and executive producer Jon Davison for this adaptation of Robert A. Heinlein's 1959 novel of the same name. Like their earlier collaboration\, STARSHIP TROOPERS is grisly in its violence and heavy in satire and irony. In this instance\, their targets are fascism\, ultra-militarism and propaganda. The result is a one-of-a-kind Hollywood science fiction war epic that was reported to have cost in the region of $100 million to produce.
