At University College Cork\, we'\;ve been delivering programmes to students with an intellectual disability since 2009.
\n\nFunded by the \;HEA'\;s Programme for Access to Higher Education (PATH 4 Phase 2)\, the \;id+futures initiative \;at UCC is underpinned by a Human Rights approach to inclusive education and promotes the fundamental rights of people with intellectual disabilities to attend third-level education and to progress to paid employment. We currently offer two programmes: the Certificate in Social Citizenship (Level 5) and the Certificate in Disability-Inclusive Practice (Level 6). Both programmes have a key focus on developing transversal and transferable work skills and include a 12 week paid placement. We work with a host of Munster based employers across a diverse range of industries who support our students through:

\nDelivering bespoke workshops
\nSite visits and tours
\nThe 10th of December is the International Day of Human Rights and we have deliberately chosen this date to host our Business Partner Showcase. On the day you will hear from long standing business partners who will speak to the value of employing our students and graduates and how it has enhanced their business in so many ways. You will also hear from our graduates\, work place mentors and hiring managers\, who will share their own experiences of the id + work placement.
