DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join Visit Cork's Industry Day\, where we will share our plans for 2024 in both Leisure Tourism (Pure Cork) and Business Tourism (Cork Convention Bureau). The event will open with a presentation from the Visit Cork Team and will be followed by a sustainability conference on the theme of  "Waste Not\, Want Not".\n\nIn a collective effort to address and mitigate the impact of food waste within the tourism sector\, Visit Cork\, in collaboration with Cork County Council and Cork City Council\, proudly announces the launch of the "Waste Not\, Want Not" conference. The conference responds to the alarming statistic that more than one-quarter of the global food production is wasted\, contributing significantly to climate change\, with food loss and waste responsible for 8-10% of greenhouse gas emissions.\n\nThis initiative\, supported by funding from the Regional Waste Management Planning Offices' "Green Hubs" Fund\, aims to bring together stakeholders from the tourism and hospitality industry to share insights\, expertise\, and practical solutions for managing and reducing waste.\n\nSpeakers on the day include:\n\n\n	MC Kenneth Lyons\, Co-Host\, The Green Room\n	Ger O'Mahoney\, Chairman\, Visit Cork\n	Seamus Heaney\, Head of Visit Cork \n	Evelyn O'Sullivan\, Visit Cork\n	Pauline McDonogh\, Southern Region Waste Management Planning Office\n	Colm O'Brien\, Director\, Wiser Waste Management\n	Aisling Kirwan\, Positive Carbon\n	Keelin Tobin\, Clean Technology Centre\, MTU\n	Jenny De Saulles\, Director of Sector Development\, F ilte Ireland\n	Neil Grant\, General Manager\, Celtic Ross Hotel\n	Fiona Kelleher\, CEO\, MyGug\n	Alex Petit\, Group Executive Chef for Trigon Hotels \n	Louise Byrne\, Killarney Coffee Cup Initiative\n	Madeline Murray\, Change By Degrees\n\n\nThis is an open invitation to any individual or business involved in tourism in Cork.
