We currently have a very exciting position for or ever growing site in Hach Ireland, part of our Water Quality Platform, in Little Island, Senior Company Accountant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and complete statutory accounts for Irish entities. Liaise with auditors on the audit of these entities

  • Coordinate completion of periodic returns to Corporate, but not limited to, Insurance data collection, quarterly supplementary reporting files, Monthly statistics, US GAAP taxation data collection

  • Coordinate completion of period returns to Revenue Authorities including, but not limited to, VAT, Intrastat, P30 Returns

  • Participate in governance of Ireland operations by reviewing and verifying records, policies and procedures including SOX

  • Carry out periodic balance sheet reviews to ensure compliance with Danaher Corporate guidance. Coordinate remediation of deviations

  • Supervision of the payroll process in cooperation with the human resources department incl. e.g. salary payments, ROS submissions, contact person for internal and external enquiries (colleagues, pensions, health care service etc.)

  • Manage the month end process to deliver accurate and timely information

  • Carry out of monthly and year-end closing work, e.g. determination and posting of provisions and accruals

  • Analyze variations from forecasts and prior periods to provide accurate explanations for variances, identify trends, support Finance Director Operations Europe to both determine countermeasures and drive improvements

  • Define and provide leadership to implement and improve a process to provide forecast accuracy.

  • Implement and continuously improve internal controls to ensure accurate reporting and proper safeguarding of company assets

  • Drive SOX compliance

  • Drive the use of DBS / Lean Management Tools and continuous improvement within the Finance organization and the business

  • Ensure that all Danaher adhoc requests and deadlines are followed

  • Contribute to the creation and sustaining of a sense of community through e.g. professional and also interdepartmental support of colleagues

Background and Skill / Qualifications

  • Relevant certification (e.g. CMA or CPA) will be preferred

  • 3+ years’ experience in financial controllership, FP&A or accounting. Experience gained in a multinational manufacturing environment is an advantage

  • 3+ years’ experience in large audit firm is a strong asset

  • Comfortable working in a global matrix organization with the ability to build and leverage networks within an organization is desired

  • Deep knowledge of US GAAP, local statutory and taxation requirements and SOX Compliance

  • Use of financial reporting tools such as HFM, MS Office (Excel advanced level) and ERP systems (Oracle, SAP) literate

  • Fluent in English

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with all levels of management, able to serve as a business partner

  • Strong business understanding and acumen

  • Strong leadership skills, building and developing a strong and engaged team, proactive and supportive management style that focuses on the training and devilment of associates at all levels

  • Continuous improvement orientation familiarity with Lean principles and demonstrated ability to apply these to Finance value streams
