About Us

Ballymaloe House is an Irish country guesthouse and restaurant (+ events venue) located only 35 minutes from Cork city and airport.
Owned by the Allen family since 1964 and is celebrated internationally as the home of Modern Irish cuisine offering the warmest hospitality.

Ballymaloe House has 34 individually and beautifully decorated bedrooms and their world renown restaurant was opened by Myrtle Allen in 1964 with a small advertisement inviting guests to 'Dine in a Country House'. Myrtle was a self-taught cook, making the very best of the ingredients on her husbands surrounding farm and the locality. This food provenance is still very much part of Ballymaloe's ethos today. Onsite there is a summer outside swimming pool, tennis court, plenty of well maintained walkways and woodland paths, a busy farm and the Ballymaloe Craft and Kitchen shop and café.

Also onsite, the Ballymaloe Grainstore is a modern multipurpose converted farm building with state-of-the-art conference facilities. The Grainstore hosts a program of annual events and concerts, and is available for private hire for events, weddings, conferences, corporate events or exhibitions.
