About Us

West Cork Music is a Bantry-based arts organisation with a world-class music, literary and educational output. It is curator and presenter of three annual festivals (West Cork Chamber Music Festival, West Cork Literary Festival and Masters of Tradition) and year-round concert and education programming, serving local, national and international audiences for nearly 30 years. With an annual economic impact of more than €4.48 million, West Cork Music is a key driver of the tourism economy for West Cork and the south west region.

West Cork Music is currently working to develop an arts venue - an internationally recognised beacon of artistic excellence - in the heart of Bantry town. Ireland’s first purpose-built chamber music venue outside Dublin will be a vibrant home for creative performance in West Cork. Sitting alongside a bustling purpose-built Music Education Hub - the second strand of this ambitious project - the venue will help to form a new cultural quarter that will incorporate Bantry's iconic library and an attractive public plaza.

Together, the venue and hub will celebrate and foster artistic excellence and learning. They will also help to make West Cork a great place to live, work, learn, and visit, serving as a catalyst to help Bantry and its hinterlands thrive.
