Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) at Cork Chamber actively participated at the EEN annual conference in Vienna hosted by WKO-Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and FFG-Austrian Research Promotion Agency on 23-25 October.
Through the Enterprise Europe Network's main event held over three days, Cork Chamber had the opportunity to learn from good practice and reach out to an international network of business advisers from around 600 Network member organisations from more than 63 countries as well as representatives from the European Institutions and key external stakeholders.
Nova Innovation, a Scottish SME were announced as the winner of the 2018 Enterprise Europe Network Award. Nova's win comes after they delivered a novel idea: creating the world's first grid compliant tidal energy turbines in Scotland, ahead of big multi-national energy companies. Nova has seized business opportunities in the EU Single Market, made the most of the EU's funding and partnership opportunities and has transformed its business and grown on an international scale with the help and guidance of the Network. The EEN Network is part funded under COSME - Europe's programme for SMEs which aims to boost the competitiveness of business and promote entrepreneurship and improve the business environment for SMEs to allow them to realise their full potential in today's global economy.
Enterprise Europe Network services in Ireland are delivered by Enterprise Ireland, together with Cork Chamber, Dublin Chamber and Local Enterprise Offices.
