Cork Chamber, the voice of business in Cork, welcome’s today’s launch of the Cork City Heritage and Biodiversity Plan as a key step towards enhancing the attractiveness of Cork.
“This five-year plan presents a key opportunity to promote and enhance the heritage and biodiversity of Cork, essential to our city region’s DNA and the quality of life of Corkonians. The importance of biodiversity cannot be overlooked, and this plan is a step towards communicating its value so that we can continue to strengthen and protect our communities, culture, and natural environment,” commented Conor Healy, CEO Cork Chamber.
“We are uniquely positioned in Cork, with the extent of progressive developments planned and the recent designation to be climate-neutral by 2030, to successfully wed the economic, social and environmental benefits to truly realise sustainable development that works for all, and for our natural environment. Cork is a city with much to offer and it is clear that the level of ambition in this plan will contribute to placing Cork on the map as the sustainable destination of choice for the future work force and tourists.”
“With COP27 currently taking place and the window for action narrowing, the provision of funding and structures are vital to enabling the delivery of the plan’s objectives so that we can build resilient communities and reverse biodiversity loss.”
