New Chairperson for the Chartered Accountants Cork Society

At the Chartered Accountants Cork Society Annual General Meeting on June 14th, Ray Egan FCA, Advisory Director at PwC was voted in as the new Chairperson for the upcoming year 2022/2023. Ray takes up the mantle from Kevin Nyhan, AIB.  
Ray expressed his enthusiasm for his new role, commenting that “It is a wonderful opportunity to represent the Cork Society members and to be an advocate for the numerous skills and experience that Chartered Accountants contribute to the wider community. The last number of years have been very challenging for the Cork Society, and I am looking forward to reconnecting with the members over the next 12 months”.
Ray Egan is a fellow of the Chartered Accountants Ireland and has worked in practice for 17 years. Ray, originally from Limerick, was educated in the University of Limerick and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2009. Ray relocated to Cork in 2013 and joined the PwC Advisory team in 2018 as a Director in the Deals team.
Ray also adds that “he intends to use his term to connect with as many of the Cork Society members as possible and is looking forward to running a number of new exciting events both virtually and in person over his term in 2022/2023”.
The Chartered Accountants Cork Society has over 2,500 members working in the city and county.  Its role is to represent local members as well as to assist the members in professional development. The society also assists in an on-going contribution to the local community such as their events organised recently for the Irish Cancer Society and Edel House.
