Renewable energy developer DP Energy has announced the appointment of Adam Cronin as Technical and Engineering Manager to its Irish Offshore team. Operating worldwide and headquartered in Cork, Adam will lead DP Energy’s technical and engineering teams in the delivery of the company's exciting and ambitious offshore renewable development brief in Ireland. Adam will also provide technical advice across the group and internationally.
DP Energy currently operates projects in Australia, Canada, Scotland and Northern Ireland and here in Ireland. Earlier this year, the company agreed a landmark deal with Spanish energy giant Iberdrola to develop three offshore wind projects off the coast of Ireland.
Adam joins DP Energy with significant experience in the design, consenting and development of marine and offshore projects, including offshore energy, subsea cabling, dredging and port and harbour developments supporting the offshore renewable sector. Prior to his recent appointment, Adam led the Marine Engineering Team at ByrneLooby. Commenting on his new role, Adam said, “I’m passionate about renewable energy and the sustainable exploitation of our marine resources and I’m delighted to join DP Energy during this exciting and pivotal time for offshore wind projects here in Ireland. The development of Irish offshore wind farms will significantly contribute to Ireland’s Climate Action Plan targets, leading the way in our fight against climate change.”
