Stryker Expansion Strengthening its Ties to Cork
Cork Chamber, the voice of business in Cork, has welcomed the official opening of the new Stryker facility at Anngrove, Carrigtwohill.
“The investment made by Stryker in Carrigtwohill is very significant for the region. With the capacity to provide a further 600 jobs at this newly expanded, state of the art facility, Stryker have shown their continued commitment to the region as an excellent location for their global additive technology research and development,” said Conor Healy, CEO, Cork Chamber.
“Cork has an attractive ecosystem that has made the region the destination of choice for international investors and we must continue to ensure that our offering remains competitive on the global stage.”
Mr Healy continued, “The development of the transport corridors along the eastern reaches of the city region are essential to supporting the economic development. It is clear that the decision not to fund the N25 Carrigtwohill-Midleton multi modal route must be revisited. However, it is reassuring that plans to upgrade and electrify the rail line were given the green light to move forward in May of this year under the EU recovery and resilience fund. This in conjunction with the recently increased frequency of service along the Midleton rail line are steps in the right direction towards a sustainable future for Cork’s transport system.”
