Mick Hanly & Friends

Mick Hanly & Friends

Singer/Songwriter Mick Hanly with fellow Moving Hearts members, Anto Drennan and Eoghan O'Neill for a night of stories and songs.

Limerick born Singer/Songwriter Mick Hanly, now longtime resident of Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny teams up with fellow Moving Hearts members, Anto Drennan and Eoghan O'Neill for a gig in The White Horse Inn, Ballincollig, Cork The trio have done a string of gigs since the start of the year to much acclaim.

Hanly spent two years in the as a wages clerk in the ESB….in Galway, but his love of music was such, that he quit his job, to pursue a musical career. Today, he is regarded as one of Ireland’s best songwriters, and his songs have been covered by luminaries such as, Mary Black, Christy Moore, Dolores Keane, etc….His song Past The Point of Rescue went to No2. in the American Country charts for singer Hal Ketchum and has earned him the BMI award for 2 million radio play in the US.

The guitar skills of Anto Drennan are widely sought after by such luminaries as Mike & The Mechanics, The Corrs, Clannad, Paul Brady, Moving Hearts etc. His playing in always sympathetic….and dynamic when the need arises.

Eoghan O'Neill is also in the same league. Founding member of Moving Hearts, he also toured with Chris Rea, Riverdance (Musical director), Celtic Woman......he has also played on most of Mick's albums.

Mick provides the stories and songs in his own inimitable style. As a threesome, they have a well-honed musical empathy and produce a show full of great sounds and lots of entertainment. The gig is on Sat 23rd August ….its a show not to be missed.
