2019 Cork Food Policy Council Award Scheme
Cork Food Policy Council (CFPC) is very pleased to announce the 2019 Cork Food Policy Council Award Scheme.
The CFPC believe there are many organisations and schools who go that extra mile when it comes to sustainable food practices with their healthy eating policies, community and school gardens, allotments, rain harvesting systems, composting; etc. who deserve to be recognised. This awards program is designed to recognise and acknowledge good work and encourage others to follow suit.
Applicants, who must be Cork-based, are invited from each of the following four categories:
- Private Business – food retail, producer, restaurant, food enterprise; etc.
- Not for Profit – Community garden, allotment, charitable organisation; etc.
- Educational Institution – third level institute, skills & training providers; etc.
- Schools – Primary or Secondary

2. A thriving local economy
3. Resilient, food-friendly communities
4. Lifelong earning & skills
5. A reduced environmental footprint
Successful applicants will be awarded the 2018 CFPC Certificate of Recognition at a special event in the City Hall at 6pm on Tuesday February 12th 2019. In addition, one outstanding example from each category will be awarded the 2019 CFPC Certificate of Excellence, along with a cash prize of €500 kindly donated by SuperValu Ireland.

An award ceremony will be hosted by the Lord Mayor of Cork City Cllr. Mick Finn in St Peters, North Main Street at 6pm on Tuesday February 12th 2019
