As the centenaries of the Irish War of Independence, and the Irish Civil War loom ahead, and as modern warfare rages this very minute elsewhere in the world, this series takes an unflinching look at the deep wounds inflicted during wartime, and how the resulting scars are borne by those sentenced to survival.
Johnno's Wars by Ger Fitzgibbon spans the period from 1919 to 1939, examining the families, friendships and alliances, forged and sundered by the violent birthing of a nation during the Irish War of Independence, and the Irish Civil War.
