The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated a shift in working habits across the globe, bringing the social, cultural and economic importance of placemaking into focus. ‘Making Place’, authored by Léan Doody, Arup Europe Integrated Cities and Planning Leader, in collaboration with IPUT Real Estate Dublin, is a timely report that proposes a new urban design practice of ‘workplacemaking’, aiming to bring together typically corporate and civic territories, to recalibrate modern office culture.
