Neighbourhoods provide an ideal context to develop replicable approaches to net zero that can be applied to cities – and beyond. The district scale offers both scale and agility as we pivot towards a more sustainable future, acting as labs to test out pioneering new policy, trial partnerships and tech or find creative ways to engage residents.
Arup is hosting a panel discussion with industry leaders to explore the key approaches that can be adopted to develop these net zero, people-centred neighbourhoods. The event will also include an overview of our new ‘Green and Thriving Neighbourhoods’ report, produced by Arup and C40 Cities in response to the urgency of the global climate agenda.
The event will be an online virtual panel hosted by Léan Doody, Cities & Planning Lead Europe, Arup, and the speakers include:
Matthew Baldwin, Deputy Director-General Mobility and Transport DG, European Commission
Fabio Carlozzo, Chief Executive Officer, REDO sgr
Hélène Chartier, Head of Zero Carbon Development, C40
Juan Manuel Fernández Alonso, Deputy Director General for Urban Development, Municipality of Madrid
Alejandro Gutiérrez, Director, Cities & Planning Milan, Arup
