Recently deceased couple Adam and Barbara need his powers to rid their house of the dire Deetz family. But even they are ready for the craziest demonic doings that the spiritual world has ever seen. Also starring Catherine O'Hara and Winona Ryder, BEETLEJUICE was Tim Burton’s second feature film that introduced the world to one of cinema’s most memorable characters: Beetlejuice! Michael Keaton excels in the title role in this wonderfully macabre black comedy.

The Fantastical Cinema of Tim Burton 

Tim Burton is a filmmaker with a unique cinematic vision in that his films often blend elements of gothic fantasy with whimsy and surrealism. Triskel Arts Centre is delighted to present Burton’s first five feature films, which will be screened over five consecutive Saturday evenings this August: there is madcap comedy with PEE-WEE’S BIG ADVENTURE, the macabre black comedy with the original BEETLEJUICE, the comic book hero adaptations BATMAN and BATMAN RETURNS, and the bittersweet fairytale that is EDWARD SCISSORHANDS.
