The Cork Association for Autism’s fourth annual 6km Blue Balloon Fun Run & Walk will take place in Blackrock on Sunday the 10^th of September at 11am.

The scenic off-road route will travel down the Old Railway Line and back along by the water before finishing up near Blackrock Castle. At the finish line participants will be greeted with light refreshments, an ice cream van and family entertainment. Bus Eireann have kindly come on board to provide a free shuttle bus to escort participants from the finish line back to their cars.

All monies raised at this event will go towards the funding of vehicle costs which are used to transport users of the service from their homes to the provided service centres and also to access community integration activities and daytrips. The transport facility is a fundamentally important aspect as it aids in achieving community integration, improving service user’s socialisation skills and promotes independence. Additionally; as the official colour for Autism is blue, 300 people running along the watersedge with blue balloon tied to their wrists will raise great awareness for autism in our community.
