In November 2021 amidst a global pandemic, Dermot took up the role of CEO at Dalata, Ireland’s largest hotel group. The owner of the Maldron and Clayton hotel brands, Dalata operates 50 hotels across Ireland, UK and Germany, employing nearly 5,500 staff.
With Cork born Dermot at the helm, the hotel group has recently opened six new hotels and has further plans to expand their footprint. They announced a record set of financial results for the first half of this year reporting a profit after tax of €42m.
Prior to Dalata, Dermot worked with PWC, Procter & Gamble, Forte Hotels, Renault, Jurys Doyle Hotel Group and Ion Equity. He is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and a graduate of University College Cork.
