Supply chain management is the management of the flow of goods and information through the value chain from order, materials acquisition to final consumption. It is about getting the right product, in the right quantity, at the right quality, in the right place at the right time, for the right consumer at the right cost.
To achieve this, supply chain management takes in many of the functions of a business including forecasting, inventory management, purchasing management, warehouse management, and information technology and transport management.

The Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (SCM) is a 2-year flexible part-time course designed specifically to fit around work schedules.
Each year has two semesters:
- Semester One lectures start the end of September to mid-December
- Semester Two lectures start mid-January to May
- Classes on a Saturdays there are no weekday or evening classes
- Times from 9am - 4.30pm
- Location Griffith College Cork, Wellington Road

Griffith College campus is located on Wellington Road, just a fifteen minutes walk from St. Patrick’s Street, the main shopping street in Cork city centre. It is approximately five hundred meters from the main train station serving a wide variety of towns and cities. The main bus station is a fifteen-minute walk from the College and most bus routes start and terminate there.
Fees/Admission
The cost of the Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (SCM) is €2,500 per annum, with flexible payment options available.
Those paying annually in advance, receive a €200 discount, so this excellent course starts from as little as €2,300 per annum.
