The world has changed. We used to rely on colleagues to fill the gaps in our knowledge. We looked things up in books and on websites, and “reading around the problem” took time. But that time gave us context, understanding and, ultimately, a better result.

In 2026, the “good result” is often available at our fingertips simply by asking our favourite LLM to give us the answer.

Yes, it is easier. But we may have lost something important – and it’s going to hurt.

In this practical and engaging session, Ireland’s leading expert in project management, James Louttit, will explore some of the common uses of artificial intelligence, from writing meeting minutes to creating project documents. He’ll look at the benefits, but also the challenges, helping us consider what we might be losing if we rely too heavily on these tools.

James will then introduce practical “AI hybrid” approaches that combine the power of AI with human collaboration. These methods can help teams identify tasks and risks, estimate and plan work, and generate better discussions with team members.

Without genuine human interaction, buy-in and collaboration are hard to generate. And without buy-in and collaboration, it doesn’t matter how good the project output is – it is likely to fail.

Techniques such as taming the HiPPO, S.A.V.E., Lean Coffee and Planning Poker can be used with or without AI to improve teamwork and help you and your colleagues achieve low-stress success.

About the Trainer
James Louttit’s approach to project management was transformed in 2016 when, after years of overwork, he was hospitalised with severe meningitis. The experience inspired his focus on helping people achieve greater impact with less stress.

James is an award-winning project management expert, former CIO of Cpl and former Project Management Competency Lead for Bank of Ireland through Accenture. He was named PMI Ireland Project Professional of the Year 2023 and is the author of Leading Impactful Teams – Achieving Low-Stress Success in Project Management.

He leads project management training at the Irish Management Institute and works directly with teams and organisations across the public and private sectors in Ireland and internationally.
