Dear New York - visual exhibition
Dear New York is a visual exhibition exploring the urban life and colour of New York City. It follows on from a short film I released last year of the same name. I spent most of 2016 in New York and during that time I took myself and my cameras out and about, walking for hours and hours a day for weeks on end, trying to capture the feeling I had when I wandered alone in this city. This feeling of been visually overwhelmed yet totally captivated. Every building, every street corner, every doorway seemed to tell a story. This exhibition is the not only my perspective of this incredible place but a meditation in what it means to slow down and observe in the chaos of a modern city. New York is a city that does not conform. It never goes dark. It is ever changing. It is a city of extremes. On your best day there is nowhere else I would rather be, on a bad day there is no place worse. However, one thing's for sure, every time you leave, you cannot wait to get right back in.
