Desperately Seeking Susan: Susan Seidelman Season

Roberta is a bored New Jersey housewife who spices up her life by reading personal ads. She is especially intrigued by a series of correspondences involving a mysterious woman named Susan. When Roberta goes to secretly observe a meeting at Battery Park between Susan and her suitor, she begins a madcap adventure in which Roberta loses her memory, is mistaken for Susan, and gathers the unwanted attention from some very strange characters. With its speedy pace, sharp wit and winning performances, DESPERATELY SEEKING SUSAN was Susan Seidelman's second feature film and one of the best comedies of the eighties.

SUSAN SEIDELMAN SEASON 

Triskel Arts Centre is delighted to present a selection of films from director Susan Seidelman. Starting with the impressive independently made SMITHEREENS she went onto direct the wonderfully witty DESPERATELY SEEKING SUSAN with Rosanna Arquette and Madonna, the good-natured sci-fi comedy MAKING MR. RIGHT with John Malkovich, and the wickedly humorous revenge tale SHE-DEVIL, which gave Meryl Streep her first comedic role. Check out all of these films which are screening part of this season.
