SPEAKERS

Dr. Mary Collins, Coaching Psychologist

Dr. Collins is a Coaching Psychologist with 15 years experience in the field of Organisation Development & Talent Management. Graduate member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI). Currently Senior Executive Development Specialist with the Royal College of Surgeons Institute of Leadership. Academic roles include Programme Co-Director of the MSc in Leadership and Professional Diploma in Clinical Leadership. Module Lead for the MCH in Surgery Leadership Module.

Dr Collins will focus on ‘Developing Next Gen Leadership’ looking at the latest research trends and will provide practical strategies on leading and developing the powerful young generations in the workplace (Gen Y & Z).

Gavin O’Brien, Chief People Officer, Teamwork.com

Gavin O’Brien Gavin is currently the Chief People Officer at Cork based Teamwork.com. Teamwork.com is a self-funded Software as a Service (SaaS) company headquartered in Cork city. The company has 22,000 paying customers with 5 million users across 183 countries. Teamwork employs 240 people in 8 offices across Europe and the US and also employs a remote workforce of 35 across 18 countries. The company specialises in producing software to improve Work Collaboration and Customer Service management. The company lists some of the world’s most influential companies as their clients, including Disney, Spotify and Netflix. Founders Dan Mackey and Peter Coppinger were named overall winners at the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards for 2018 and the Company won Cork Large Company of the year for 2018.

Gavin holds a BSc in Occupational Psychology from the Ulster University, an MSc in Occupational Psychology from Queens University Belfast and an LLM in Master in Laws (Business), from University College Cork. Previously Positions held HR Director at Sanofi Pharmaceuticals Ireland. EMEA People Operations Director at Zendesk. Global Director of Talent Management at IFFCO, United Arab Emirates. Chief Personnel Officer & Vice President at PepsiCo Worldwide Flavours, Cork, Ireland. Group Resources Manager at Xerox Europe Ltd. HR Manager 3M United Kingdom Plc.

Gavin will focus on ‘Developing the Organisation for Tomorrow’.  His talk will focus on how Teamwork.com has created a unique work environment that enables people to take control of their own development and help build a future-ready Company.
