Electric Mobility - Redefining our City
The Sustainable Cork Programme (SCP) webinar series is designed to set a vision for a more sustainable and resilient Cork, empowered by a thriving business community.
The pandemic has transformed our urban mobility landscape, raising expectations for walking and cycling infrastructure, while placing new pressure on public transport. Alongside this, transport emissions reduction targets loom to combat the climate crisis and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has underscored the importance of enhancing Europe's zero and low carbon transport alternatives.
Mobility and transport are crucial for a city to function properly. E-Mobility is now one of the current megatrends in transport - new vehicles are increasingly electric, a change driven by efforts to reduce our carbon footprint.
This webinar will explore the untapped potential for urban sustainable mobility and how it will likely change by 2030, sharing resources and the role of innovation and e-mobility in creating opportunities for cleaner and greener travel to help reduce congestion and handle last-mile journeys.
In this session coinciding with European Mobility week 2022, we will:
- Hear how the city of Amsterdam is a ‘living lab’ - using data to create mobility solutions for a connected city that has the least possible impact on the environment while keeping the city inclusive, liveable and attractive.
- Seek to understand how innovation, electrification, automation and new forms of sustainable mobility can boost connectivity and accessibility while complementing public transport to offer sustainable, efficient, and affordable options.
