The First Aid Response course is for anyone wanting to learn how to recognise and care for people with life-threatening injuries before the arrival of healthcare practitioners. If you require basic first aid training as part of your job then it’s also for you. This could include non-healthcare personnel, sports coaches, teachers and parents as a very small example.
We host our courses in our Cork training centres. If you have a need for onsite training for your company then please contact us at info@lwmanagement.ie
There are currently no prerequisites that you need for this course. If you are considering this course then you should be physically well enough to carry out CPR as well as other practical skills. These would include attempting to relieve the blockage in a casualty who is choking, placing a person in the recovery position and putting bandages on injured limbs.
First Aid Response (FAR) is a new training standard developed by the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council of Ireland (PHECC). The objective of First Aid Response is to improve and replace the current Occupational First Aid course. It also means we have a standardised syllabus nationwide. First Aid Response also includes the full Cardiac First Response (CFR) Community standard. Below is an outline of what you can expect to cover during your time on the course.
