Cork Chamber has teamed up with SHEP Earth Aware, Green Spaces for Health, Cork Healthy Cities, the Environmental Research Institute, UCC and Cork Environmental Forum for this informative webinar on making Cork a greener city. This session titled 'Connecting Nature: Bringing Life to the City' will highlight the importance of how a greener city is not only more pleasant to live in, or to visit, but how it also improves the health, wellbeing and social cohesion of citizens, helps sustain biodiversity, mitigates the effects of climate change and provides opportunities for innovative and sustainable economic development.
To discuss these topics, we will be joined by Professor Marcus Collier, Trinity College Dublin and Coordinator of Connecting Nature, a consortium of 30 partners within 16 European countries and hubs in Brazil, China, Korea and the Caucasus. Professor Collier will share his thoughts, ideas and experiences on the many ways a city can become greener. The session will provide ample opportunity to engage, and discuss responses.
With the development ongoing of the new Cork City Development Plan 2022 to 2028, now is an opportune time to consider what kind of a city we want to live in for the future.
