Greening Our City: The KinShip - A Durational Public Art Work Project

Greening Our City: The KinShip - A Durational Public Art Work Project

Cork Chamber has teamed up with SHEP Earth Aware, Green Spaces for Health, Cork Healthy Cities and the Environmental Research Institute, UCC for this informative webinar series to showcase examples from other countries and discuss the many ways we can make Cork a greener city!

Throughout 2022, The KinShip Project will take place at Tramore Valley Park led by artists Lennon Taylor (Marilyn Lennon and Seán Taylor), in partnership with Cork City Council.

The aim of The KinShip Project is to develop a kin-like connection between the community and its park, encouraging people to treat the park like an extension of their own family. It is a recipient of the inaugural Creative Climate Action fund, an initiative from the Creative Ireland Programme in collaboration with the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications that supports creative, cultural and artistic projects that build awareness around climate change and empower citizens to make meaningful behavioural transformations.

Local project partners include Cork Healthy Cities, Cork Nature Network, Cork UNESCO Learning Cities, Green Spaces for Health, MTU Clean Technology Centre and UCC Environmental Research Institute.

We will be joined by Siobhán Clancy, Community Arts Coordinator at Cork City Arts Office. Siobhán provides support to Lennon Taylor on behalf of Cork City Council as lead partner of The KinShip Project.

Don't miss this informative webinar as we look at the aim of The KinShip Project and the development of a kin-like connection between the community and the park.
