Headway Christmas Charity Ball in aid of critically needed rehabilitation facility
This Winter Wonderland Extravaganza will take place on the 13th of December 2019 at the Rochestown Park Hotel Cork where we will enjoy a magical evening of dining, dancing, and a special silent auction. We envisage this event to be an ideal opportunity for company leaders to organize their Christmas team building year-end celebration event and where individuals will enjoy a great night's entertainment while contributing to charity and a critically needed rehabilitation facility for the community of Cork. Come one, come all! Join us and celebrate the holiday cheer for an amazing cause. Attend our astonishing black-tie event with live music, a DJ till late, a delicious four-course meal and spot prizes, all kicking off at 7 pm.
Why this is so important to us all: Headway currently provides brain injury rehabilitation services to over 300 individuals from two sites in Cork, Carrigrohane, and Ballincollig, and has recently received ownership of the site they previous rented on the Carrigrohane Road. Headway recognizes that the facilities are inadequate for the critical services that will be needed in the future. Headway’s ambition is to combine both of their current Cork facilities and develop one state of the art brain injury community rehabilitation facility on their Carrigrohane site. The challenge is to raise funds to be able to deliver the new center whilst continuing to deliver services from day to day. Overall, our faith in Cork's industrial, commercial and domestic communities to help us achieve this goal is overwhelming and beyond doubt.
About Headway Ireland: Headway is an Irish registered charity and an internationally accredited brain injury services organisation that supports adults (18+) who are affected by brain injury, including stroke. Headway was founded in 1985 as a support group by families and interested professionals to address the needs of people with brain injuries and their carers and families. Since then, Headway has grown, and now provides a range of community-based rehabilitation support and services for people affected by brain injury, whatever the severity of the injury.
Headway's vision is for a future where people with Acquired Brain Injury in Ireland can rebuild their lives and meaningful roles in their own communities. Headway's flexible and person-centered services will be responsive to the full range of individual's needs at all stages following brain injury, providing the highest standards of rehabilitative support. As a recognised leader in ABI rehabilitation, Headway aims to heighten communication and awareness of brain injury in Ireland, to shed light on this hidden disability.
