HOME more or LESS 2018
Focus Ireland is delighted to have joined forces with Cork City Library Service to present our first joint exhibition of 2018 as part of National Heritage Week.
With the theme of sharing stories, HOME more or LESS 2018 captures the theme of National Heritage Week 2018.
HOME more or LESS 2018 is the first public photographic exhibition of Sarah Rea from Cork. A native of the city, Sarah a young woman in her twenties, has had a lifelong interest in photography and has shown a real flair for the artistic medium.
Having fallen into homelessness in 2016 Sarah has been a customer of Focus Ireland since 2016.
With no home of her own we thought that Sarah would be wonderfully placed to capture the images of Home and share the story of what home means to all of our society in 2018.
It is a mixture of still life images and personal stories of customers of Focus Ireland. In all over 30 images are included in the exhibition which will run from 17th August until 25th August in City Library, Grand Parade, Cork City.
Working with people throughout Ireland Focus Ireland has the twin objectives of preventing homelessness and working with people in homelessness through a sustained exit.
Focus Irelands mission clearly sets out that we are driven by a fundamental belief that homelessness is wrong. Homelessness is wrong and we have to make that felt in everything we do or say.
HOME more or LESS 2018 attempts to capture what home means to many and fits wonderfully into our role as advocates, challenging homelessness and changing lives.
