We are excited to present the next installation of the CIFF Film Club: European Shorts Season which comprises a selection of short films guest-curated by the International Short Film Festival of Cyprus on Tuesday, 28th June at 6pm in The Gate Cinema, Cork City.
Immerse yourself in the Eastern Mediterranean culture with distinctive short films from Cyprus, such as I Don’t Want to Forget Anything directed by Vaggelio Soumeli; a modern-day biblical retelling addressing homophobia and patriarchy in The Hunt by Sholeh Zahraei and Kamil Saldun; a touching and enlightening set of interviews in Tonia Mishiali's I don’t like the wind, I like the sun; an extraordinary encounter turns life upside down in A Summer Place by Alexandra Matheou; with more great shorts, including The Rites of Spring by Yiorgos Tsangaris, an experimental non-narrative-animated short depicting the change of the Christian Orthodox tradition; and expressive, emotional monologues comprise In Limbo by Semeli Vogazianou.
