In Conversation with Jason Hawkins, Group Chief Executive Officer, Carbery Group
Join us in conversation with Jason Hawkins, Group Chief Executive Officer, Carbery Group for our Business Breakfast Live.
Carbery Group is one of the most progressive dairy cooperatives in the world, with roots in the rural community and a strong vision for the future.
You will hear insights into the impact that Brexit and changes in international markets have had on the dairy sector, how Carbery has Brexit proofed their business, along with the actions Carbery is taking to become carbon neutral by 2035 across all its locations.
From Farm Zero C, a project to prove the model for zero carbon farming, to the new €78 million manufacturing plant at Ballineen, that will diversify the range of cheeses and produce mozzarella for export to a range of international markets, Carbery is keeping Cork at the forefront of agriculture, sustainability and food production.
Leading the way is Jason Hawkins, who has been Chief Executive Officer of Carbery Group since January 2018. Originally from Tralee, Jason’s previous role was Chief Operating Officer with Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), where he had responsibility for the organisation’s global ingredients business. DFA is a leading global dairy co-operative, based in Kansas, USA.
Prior to DFA, Jason had a long and distinguished career with Kerry Group, which he joined as a graduate accountant in 1999, after completing his business degree at the Institute of Technology Tralee.
For most of his career, Jason has lived and worked in the United States, holding several leadership positions within the Taste & Nutrition division of Kerry Group, where he was responsible for the vision, strategy and growth of several of Kerry’s businesses in the region. Jason is a qualified accountant with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
