This session will focus on the implementation of the pension Auto-Enrolment system, under the name My Future Fund and how it will become a reality for employers later this year.

Ireland is the only OECD country without a mandatory retirement savings system, but that will change with the introduction of Auto-Enrolment (AE) in 2025. Under the AE criteria, inclusion will automatically apply to individuals aged between 23 and 60 who earn in excess of €20,000 per annum from all employments and who are not already participating in a pension scheme through their payroll.

The introduction of AE will bring 800,000 new savers into the system, and with compliance and cost implications for employers, it is imperative that Employers take the necessary steps to prepare for the launch of AE.
