Kisses, Juozas. Part of the Baltic Film Festival
KISSES, JUOZAS tells a story about the heroic life and love of a high-ranking Lithuanian officer who, during WWII, joined the partisan movement, choosing to fight for his country's freedom over the comfortable life he could have lived abroad.
“I will not leave my country. This is my choice,” Juozas Vitkus-Kazimieraitis, the main character of the movie, tells his brother after a proposal to retreat to a more comfortable life in the USA. A Lieutenant Colonel, the highest-ranking officer of the Lithuanian army, he decided to fight for the freedom of Lithuania. He mobilised and led thousands of men in the resistance against Soviet terror.
