Learn, Network, Support

Learn, Network, Support

Cork Entrepreneurs Network is delighted to invite you to a networking event and meet some of the key figures from other networking groups and organisations in Cork. We will show you the benefits of networking, how to find the right networking group for you and how to network effectively.
Come along and join us for an interactive and collaborative evening in Republic of Work.
Meet:
Deirdre Griffin is the Acting Business Development Manager at Cork Chamber. Deirdre’s role involves building strong relationships with new companies to grow and support the member network, as well as ensuring existing members are maximising their Chamber membership. With a degree in Public Health and Health Promotion Deirdre spent a number of years working with charities in the youth, community and disability sectors and went on to work on a university wide health promotion initiative in UCC. Deirdre undertook a Masters of Business in CIT in 2015 and this led her to the world of business and ultimately her current role at the Cork Chamber of Commerce.
Cork Chamber of Commerce is the leading business organization for the promotion and development of economic and commercial activity in the Cork Region. Their mission is to make Cork the best place to do business. They represent 1,200 companies who employ over 100,000 people across the Cork region.
Darren Cronin is the Executive Director for BNI Ireland South and a Certified Network Trainer with Asentiv Global. He started his first business in 1995 - Cronin Environmental became a leading Environmental Testing company in Ireland for over 20 years. As a result of being self-employed, he needed a support network that he could rely on and for help. He discovered BNI (Business Network International) in 1999 and this changed his entire way of thinking, of doing business. With the help of his fellow BNI members, he grew the business year on year, through effective networking and building effective business relationships. He learned that by helping others, they wanted to help him.
Business Network International is an American franchised networking organization with around 233,000 members in 8,399 local chapters worldwide. Members meet weekly to discuss business and support each other's businesses by sharing referrals.

Lia Boyland is the current President of JCI Cork. JCI works on being and creating active young citizens to better the community through projects and support. She manages the local team, where they plan monthly events, training and workshops for their members and the greater community, as well as projects to better communities.
Junior Chamber International (JCI) is a non-profit international non-governmental organisation of young people between 18 and 40 years old. It has members in about 124 countries, and regional or national organizations in many of them. It has consultative status with the Council of Europe, with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and with UNESCO. It was founded in St Louis in 1915. It encourages young people to become responsible citizens and to participate in efforts towards social and economic development, and international co-operation, good-will and understanding. Its members are called Jaycees (from JC's).
As always we will network in the Imperial Hotel after the event.
