Making Mr. Right: Susan Seidelman Season

Dr. Jeff Peters is a clumsy and crass genius whose latest creation is an amazingly life-like android called Ulysses. Savvy PR executive Frankie Stone is hired to socialise this robot. She cannot stand Dr. Peters and yet is shocked to discover that Ulysses embodies all of the qualities she’s ever wanted in a man and starts falling for the android. Susan Seidelman’s third feature is a delightful comedy with a science fiction edge, with winning performances from John Malkovich (as Dr. Peters and Ulysses) and Ann Magnuson (as Frankie Stone).

Triskel Arts Centre is delighted to present a selection of films from director Susan Seidelman. Starting with the impressive independently made SMITHEREENS she went onto direct the wonderfully witty DESPERATELY SEEKING SUSAN with Rosanna Arquette and Madonna, the good-natured sci-fi comedy MAKING MR. RIGHT with John Malkovich, and the wickedly humorous revenge tale SHE-DEVIL, which gave Meryl Streep her first comedic role. Check out all of these films which are screening part of this season.
