Managing a team is no easy feat. In fact, managers are more likely than non-managers to feel burnt out, disengaged, or even on the hunt for a new job. With accelerated workplace changes, evolving employee expectations, and the rapid development of new technologies, many managers find themselves struggling to keep up. Only one in two managers believe they have the necessary skills to lead in this demanding environment. This is where the Manager Performance Challenge Day, taking place on October 3rd at the Republic of Work, Cork, steps in to provide a solution.
Organised by talent development company Sprintmodo, the Manager Performance Challenge Day is an immersive event designed to help managers tackle real-world challenges, using data-driven management practices, proven to drive high team performance. Sprintmodo, led by Founder & CEO Tom O’Brien, has spent the past five years helping managers in organisations like Pfizer and Imperial College London, as well as in smaller companies, in Ireland, the UK and across Europe.
“At Sprintmodo, we go deep into the business literature, to identify what managers should be doing, that is proven to have an impact on team performance. This has led to our data-backed Tangible Actions for managers to take, to learn-by-doing and give their teams the best possible experience at work.” Tom O’Brien, Founder & CEO Sprintmodo
The stakes are high. Research shows that poor management contributes to a staggering $8.1 trillion in productivity losses globally each year, with ineffective team management leading to decreased employee engagement, increased turnover, and lower performance. In fact, six in ten employees leave their organisations due to their manager, and one in three believe their manager simply doesn’t know how to lead them effectively.
The Manager Performance Challenge Day promises an action-packed experience, where managers from various industries will come together to address common people management challenges in a collaborative, fun and competitive environment. Participants will engage in simulated scenarios, earning points for adopting Sprintmodo’s data-backed management approaches and will be supported by the Manager Sidekick Platform, a tool that helps managers to learn-by-doing, with Tangible Actions to bring out the best in their teams.
