Mountain Challenge 2017
Brighter Communities Worldwide invite you to take part in a Mountain Challenge on Saturday August 19th.
You can choose from 2 options -
Climb Carrauntoohill the highest mountain in Ireland at 1,038 metres (3,406 ft) or walk the Old Kenmare road from Killarney to Kenmare.
Carrauntoohill is a challenging climb and you will be led by experienced, qualified mountain leaders. This is a memorable achievement and you will be rewarded by spectacular views on the way and awe-inspiring views from the top (with the co-operation of the weather!)
The Old Kenmare road is part of the Kerry Way long distance trail and this section is approx. 16km/10 miles walk through the uplands of Killarney national park. The route will be led by experienced walkers through minor roads, paved paths, woodland trails, boardwalks, river stepping stones and mucky trails. The flora, fauna and landscapes on this walk are spectacular and take you on a journey you won’t forget.
Both challenges are part of a fundraiser to support rural communities in Kenya to live healthier lives; improve school sanitation; keep girls in school; fund water schemes and gain skills to increase household incomes.
