Kicking off the new year with big dreams and plans, Network Cork has Olympic athlete Sanita Pušpure chatting with Brid Ryan, co-founder of Queen B Athletics discussing what it takes to be a World Champion. We get an insight into Sanita's training schedule, how important consistency is and how to adopt a mindset that keeps you committed to your goals. We will hear how the cancellation of the 2020 Olympics impacted Sanita, how she adapted and how COVID-19 has changed her life. We will also find out how she manages that delicate balance between mum, wife, family woman and Olympic contender, about the tough times in her journey and what it takes to stay the course as she sets her sights on Tokyo 2021!

Sanita Pušpure is a Latvian-born Irish professional rower. She is the reigning 2 x world champion & European in the women's single scull. She initially competed for Latvia at a junior level, but she moved to Ireland in 2006 and began competing for her adopted country in 2010,before gaining full Irish nationality in 2011. She was selected as the sole rowing competitor for Ireland at the 2012 Summer Olympics. In May 2016, she qualified for the Women's single sculls at the 2016 Summer Olympics. 2021 will be a big year for Sanita as she will be targeting Tokyo 2021.
